Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita defines a new dimension of luxury in the heart of Matera.
The exceptionality and uniqueness of Matera
is consistuted by the ‘ Sassi District’, a Unesco world heritage site since 1993,
a heritage considered an expression of an ancient life
from the bronze age civilizations to the monastic communities,
until the outskirts of the town, the rural poor area.
The sassi of Matera are characterized by the presence
of widespread caves excavated in the rock,
used for basic needs and a refuge for both people and animals.
The Grotte della Civita is a project of 18 caves,
some of exceptional dimensions, and a common area in an antique rupestre Church.
The whole complex is situated in the antique part of the Sassi, la Civita,
overlooking the Gravina canyon and the outstanding park of Murgia.
